Cowboy, Child in oil in progress
I've been working on this oil painting for a few days now. 11 x 14 on canvas. I'm loving the colors I've got going on in this painting! Blues & yellows, orange & reds. It's starting to 'pop' in some areas.
Today is a hot one! I love it though, and have really worked hard to get into the studio and stay in the studio! I have a lot of work to do, before the July art festivals start up!
This coming Sunday, there is a horse show, and I am excited to get there and see what I can get for new reference photos to paint from! I also hope to get some fun photos to post on my facebook photography page! & yes, I can't wait to see my friends, people & horses, after a long winter!
Monday, I'll be going to the printers to check over the proofs for Giclee prints of 4 of my paintings. "The grumpy draft", "The Windsor hotel", "Best seat in the house", "American honey". Limited Edition #1 of the Windsor Hotel is spoken for. If you would like a limited edition print of any of these titles, please let me know and they'll be printed with this first batch. Thank you! debflood@debfloodart.com
Have a super weekend!! And stay cool!! (Or warm if you happen to be in the "Winter" Countries),
Debbie

"Fetchin' Water" Child painting in Oil on Canvas
My yearly project of painting a child a day is over, but I am still exploring the world of painting children. Right now I am exploring some of the Child a day watercolors, with my oils on canvas.
I'm focusing mostly on the children with horses or horse related activities, and activities with other animals. Because they are oils, slow drying, these paintings aren't completed in a day, but I don't waste too much time on them either.
This is my first oil in my series of the children in oils.
"Fetchin' water" 11 x 14 Canvas $1,600.00
And here is the painting that was first created in Watercolors: "Fetching the water" 5 x 7 $100.00
Inquiries to purchase either painting may come to my email at debflood@debfloodart.com thank you.

YIPPEEEE!!! Surprise, surprise! I did a "Child a day" painting today!!! Boy how I have missed doing them! I had so much fun with this one, this morning. It's just pure heaven to me...to be painting these little paintings of kids and animals!
School isn't out yet, but this image reminded me of this time of year when I was in grade school. The sun was warm, the smell of first cuttings of grass on the lawns floating through the air...all I could dream about was getting out of those four walls that held me, and throw the saddle on my pony and be gone! Summer is my most favorite time of year!
I got this one done in a good amount of time. I have plenty of time to work on the larger paintings today too. Joy Joy!!
Have a wonderful creative day today!

"Words of wisdom" Watercolor progress
I did some more work on this painting, and came up with a title for it : "Words of wisdom". I'm not calling it done yet, though I do like the sculpted look to it. There is one spot that I noticed needs some attention. But it is almost finished. This painting will be going into my new book, "The Equine Art of Debbie Flood, A brush with emotions, spirits, & bonds of horses and man".
I also worked on the next seal painting. This one happens to be of Seal pups. That one also has an unfinished sculpted look to it. I'll let it sit for awhile before I decide if it needs more.
You can see the progress of my Seal Pups either on my website "Works in progress" page http://www.debfloodart.com or on my Facebook fan page.
I hope your Tuesday is going as great as mine is!
I'll talk with you tomorrow,
Debbie
